Steyr-student optimized worldwide construction sites

Florian Altmann with consulting and IT solution for site logistics success
Florian Altmann BSc (25) from Regau studied the FH master "Operations
Management" (OMT) at the Faculty of Management at the University of
Applied Sciences in Steyr, Upper. He is with his successful young IT
companies INSITE from India to the U.S., however, so popular that he
had to postpone the graduation. Together with two colleagues, he
offers a total solution for materials management on construction
sites: Optimizing With professional advice and its own software, the
young entrepreneurs with the logistics of construction project worth
some 100 million euros. Steel mills and industrial plants in India,
Brazil and Indonesia emerge with the know-how of the resourceful young
graduates now more efficient, seamless and cost-saving.

"Large industrial plants consist of a huge number of different
components that must be procured and the world organized. The
difficulty lies in the delivery data - often 20 000 Packing lists - to
provide and collect so that the site staff can work directly with it,
"says Florian Altmann. "Here we come in: we offer a total process
solution with a dedicated IT tool that enables site personnel, GPS
data, photos and documents to manage shipments of mobile and easily.
Project managers maintain as an overview of their supplies and
materials. This allows a large project efficiently organize and search
times, repeat orders and delays are significantly reduced. "Anyone who

Success factor: know-how in technology and management

Florian Altmann worked together during his school days in the HTL
Leonding on IT projects with major companies. His technical knowledge
base, he could expand his bachelor's degree in "Production and
Management" (PMT) at the University of Applied Sciences in Steyr,
Upper School of Management at major areas: practical management
know-how and international experience through a semester in Sweden.
And in his undergraduate thesis he already evaluated the IT
environment and supporting technologies in large projects.
"International experience and understanding and applying multiple
tools are practical for me personally and professionally, the most
valuable results of my studies," says Florian Altmann. The building
master "Operations Management" (OMT) in Steyr Florian Altmann
collected more international experience in Denton, Texas (USA) and
further developed his expertise in the areas of corporate management,
production planning and control.

United States, we are

Florian Altmann and his company soon will start his first major
project in the United States. "I would not have dreamed of negotiating
with my 25 years with top executives of international corporations.
But customers and users directly to the delight of his own ideas and
products is for me the most beautiful form of success, "says Florian
Altmann. Supported by the grant from tech2b he took recently at the
Microsoft Developer Conference in Anheim, California (USA). "Over the
last six months I was all of three weeks at home." Naturally that also

Management studies and production management

The Bachelor program "Production and Management" (PMT) is offered at
the Faculty of Management at the FH Campus Steyr in Upper full-time
study. After six semesters, it be granted the academic title "Bachelor
of Science in Engineering" (BSc). The PMT study provides a
comprehensive management training for future managers in manufacturing
companies. The students will learn to understand relationships in
companies and in-house holistic service provision - to analyze and
optimize - from procurement to production to sales.

Career opportunity management master's program

The master's program "Operations Management" (OMT) qualifies graduates
to assume management responsibilities in manufacturing companies. The
students receive the tools they need to develop strategies to lead
people and companies to plan production and to control and optimize
processes.

"Operations Management" (OMT) is offered at the Faculty of Management
in Steyr, both as a full-time study as well as part-time and closes
after four semesters with the title "Master of Science in Engineering"
(MSc).
